L’Eau Du Nil Set

In this modular set, L’Eau Du Nil, we are reclaiming the orientalist and Egyptomania-coined term, L’Eau Du Nil, to further cement our own contemporary Egyptian identity and take back the narrative of the Nile, its importance to Egyptians’ livelihood and the conversation on climate crisis, pollution and sustainable activism. As for the journey of the Brand, the L’Eau Du Nil Set represents the evolution of Saqhoute as a leading slow fashion brand in Egypt. The set is a modular dress that can be separated at the waist to turn into two pieces making it wearable in a minimum of 4 different variations through adding only one set into any capsule wardrobe. The dress is made out of 100% local Egyptian cotton sourced from El Mahalla and hand embroidered with an abstracted Nile Delta using the colour L’Eau Du Nil, a colour that we are looking to recoin as an Egyptian slow fashion brand that advocates for decolonisation &  sustainability.
